The Cherokee Nation is accepting applications for the 2010 Remember the Removal project. The project is a challenging 1,000-mile bike ride, where a selected group of Cherokee students will retrace the historic Trail of Tears, riding from the original Cherokee homelands Georgia and ending in Tahlequah, Okla., the capitol of the Cherokee Nation. Stimulus Funds Allow Cherokee Nation to Reconstruct Tahlequah Community Road: 2/5/2010

Cherokee Nation is currently in the beginning stages of fully reconstructing a total of 2.5 miles of road that serves the Cherokee Nation Hill Top housing addition, Grandview Public Schools and several other area residents just north of Tahlequah.

Seven Sequoyah Schools’ varsity football players will sign letters of intent to play college football on Wednesday, Feb. 3, National Football Signing Day. This is the first time in the history of Sequoyah Schools that seven football players are committing to play their sport in college.

Cherokee Nation Hosting Healthy Heart Day Fair: 2/2/2010

Members of the community are invited to try a healthy snack, learn about heart disease prevention and get an autograph from former University of Oklahoma quarterback Paul Thompson at the 16th annual Healthy Heart Day Health Fair on Friday, Feb. 12, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the Cherokee Nation Amo Health Center, located at 900 North Owen Walters Boulevard in Salina.
