Citi announces grants for Native Americans

CRAZY HORSE -- Citi, which employs about 3,000 people in South Dakota, announced Monday that $280,000 in grants are being made available to support small business growth and education for Native Americans in the state.

In a release, Citi said the grants will be distributed to nonprofit agencies that provide services to Native Americans.

Citi says the money will provide scholarships to students to attend tribal colleges, support financial literacy and training programs, fund teacher positions on reservations and help establish new lending sources on tribal lands to support business development.

Our Sacred Ground is NOT Your Playground!

"Our sacred lands are all that remain keeping us connected to our place on Mother Earth, to our spirituality, our heritage and our lands; what’s left of them. If they take it all away, what will remain except a vague memory of a past so forgotten?" ......excerpt from One Nation, One Land, One People by Tamra Brennan, 2006
