Red Shoulder Council Boycotts
Dearest Friends:
I have been informed from very reliable sources that the White Buffalo Super Valu (food market) on Standing Rock Reservation has been ripping off the Native American people whom live there.
The merchandise is extremely overpriced and the produce and meat products are rotten or of very poor quality.
It is difficult for those on the rez, especially the elderly and those who don't own cars, to go to another market farther away. In other words, they are stuck buying at this supermarket and the owners are well aware of it. They are taking advantage of the people with their incredible prices and poor quality of food.
Therefore, I suggest a boycott. If you live on or near this reservation and are able to drive to another store, please do so. If you possibly can, drive an elder or a mother with children, to another supermarket to shop.
Make copies of the following letter. Sign it and mail it to the Better Business Bureau. Hand out copies of it in front of the store or to all your friends and neighbors! Don't let these greedy, heartless, thieves get over on our brothers and sisters!
Also, we are boycotting Idaho potatoes. This state is killing off many of our Creator's wolves. We know how very important the wolf is to the ecological food chain process and, above all, how lovely and family oriented these creatures are. Do not buy any potatoes, whether fresh, instant or canned, if they come from Idaho! Save a potato, save a wolf!
Here is the letter to copy, sign and send:

RE: White Buffalo Super Valu, located at 112 Yates Street, Fort Yates, ND 58538
To Whom It May Concern:
We, the people of Standing Rock Reservation in Fort Yates, North Dakota, and our extended family members, are reporting problems we are having with White Buffalo Super Valu located on our reservation.
The store has extremely high prices and the produce and meat are either rotten or in very poor condition. The fruits and vegetables are bruised, have fungus spots or are smashed and the meats smell bad and are sometimes passed their freshness date. Many of the dry goods are also passed their expiration date.
The people on the reservation live on below poverty incomes, roughly $9,000. annually. Many, such as elders and families with small children, cannot afford vehicles and walk to the store with shopping carts. The White Buffalo Super Valu managers are well aware of this. The people need to buy groceries and, unfortunately, are stuck in a bad situation and forced to buy at this market.
We appreciate your help in this dire situation. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Sign it and mail it to the Better Business Bureau at the above address. All it costs is a .44 cents stamp and an envelope to stop these bandits from getting over on our brothers and sisters of Standing Rock.
Thank you for your help. Many blessings and a lot of love to all,
