On Wednesday, May 5 my brother-in-law Harold and wife Betty left Ooltewah in their truck pulling a camper heading for Gatlinburg. Around 12:30 - 1:00 p.m., at mile marker 45 right in front of the rest stops near Athens, their camper jacknifed and the truck and camper rolled 4 times. Betty was thrown out of the truck and airlifted by Lifeforce to Erlanger Hospital, where she eventually succumbed to her injuries. We buried her Monday. Harold was treated and released (he was wearing his seat belt ...Betty was driving and trying to fasten hers when she lost control of the truck). Also in the car was Fifi, their 4 year old black and tan toy poodle. She was tossed out of the truck but was seen running south down the road...and apparently was picked up (an eye witness mentioned a lady in a blue truck).

Fifi was Harold's constant companion and best buddy. He would give anything to get her back...and is offering a reward for her return. I know Fifi's return will make a serious difference in Harold's ability to recover emotionally from the trauma he's been through the last week. Can you help? I'm going to make calls to vets in the area...but if you can help get the following information out, I'd be really grateful. I did search the area the day of the accident, left my phone number at the rest area offices and put an ad in the Athens newspaper. A picture of Fifi is attached.
