Dear Mitt Romney: "I am the 47%"

Dear Mitt Romney: "I am the 47%"
Sandi BachomFilmmaker, Author, Citizen Journalist

I'm on Social Security, Medicare and apparently, I am the 47%... with one little wrinkle (pun intended)... I used to be rich!

Gotta tell you Mitt, my cankles are rankled!

Let's do the "arithmetic"... I worked my whole life, was married, had a huge six-figure career, house in the country, million-dollar apartment in the city, kid in private school, the very first of every electronic device ever invented... and a closet full of Prada.

So, we're really not that different, you and I.

After 9/11, I did what George Bush told me to do... I went shopping. And then, I got a divorce, lost my job and was run over by an SUV, not able to walk for a year. And when the dust cleared, I was in my late 60's, unable to find work for the FIRST time in my life, and oh yeah, I was just evicted. So please put me on your list for one of those 12 million jobs after you're elected.

You see Mitt, everybody in this country, except you, the Koch brothers and Sheldon Adelson are all just "one bad thing away" from the woman on the street. Get used to it, there are more and more of us, but nobody is talking about it.

At 68, I am considered 'elderly' by the statisticians, although I can't even ask for senior rate at Dunkin' Donuts because I'm too mortified. And if one of the guys asks if I want a senior rate, my entire day is ruined.

Here's the deal, when I lost my career, I opted for early Social Security benefits at 62 and not 67; for some reason, the year I was born, 1944, a "War Baby', you aren't fully vested until 67. And it was a good thing. There were times when I wouldn't have eaten were it not for my Social Security check, deposited the third Wednesday of every month, and sometimes, there's an extra, agonizing week in there so in some months it's touch and go... like today! At midnight tonight, Pacific Standard Time (3 a.m. in NYC), the money is deposited into my account. It's gone the minute it's deposited because you can't possibly live in New York City, or anywhere else for that matter on your Social Security check.

Oh, one more thing, you know that slacker, 'victim' Medicare thing I'm on? Well for your information, my full Social Security benefits would be $96 more... but they don't tell you this... they take away $96 to pay for the Medicare when you turn 65 -- Medicare I already paid for, taken out of my paycheck since 1965 the year it was enacted!

And... when you apply for food stamps? They account that you are making the full amount including the $96!

Now Mitt, I want you to hear me. Did you know that you can't get food stamps if you're income is over the poverty limit? Bet you don't know what that is? Well, I didn't know either until last year. It's $999, or at least that's what it was in my case.

So when I hear the word 'entitlement' uttered with disdain, it just makes me CRAZY! It's not an entitlement, I know you've never had to find it, but there is a line on the paycheck stub up to the first $100,000 for FICA (Federal Insurance Contributions Act) you pay half and 'the job creators' pay half, which could possibly be a reason why you guys want to get rid of it.

Now I know your FICA ran out on the first paycheck you ever made, but for the rest of us working stiffs around the water cooler, you could always tell how much people were making by when their FICA ran out!

Mitt, about those tax returns: I produced television commercials for 30 years, and I produced one for the Cayman Islands years ago -- beautiful place, they have glass bottom boats where you can watch the sea creatures and... 600 banks!

I bought my Rolex there... half price.

At that time, the Cayman Islands had the most numbered bank accounts outside of Switzerland. There is only one reason to keep your money there and it's not to pump up the Cayman economy.

When I was a girl, there were the "Three Biggest Lies", the first one started out, "Trust me, I won't..." none of which I can't repeat here, but the fourth might be a Romney Presidency.

I know who I'm voting for and it's a president who's got my back and not one who's stabbing me in it.

Here is the 'Dear Mitt Romney: "I AM THE 47%"' on Social Security and Medicare to 50,000 in Times Square 10/15/11 video:

‘Muslims’ Movie Producer Was Arrested for PCP, Snitched for Feds

‘Muslims’ Movie Producer Was Arrested for PCP, Snitched for Feds

Does this seem strange to anyone? A government snitch makes a controversial movie at just the right time?

Before he was involved in the making of a noxious video that provided an excuse for anti-American riots in the Middle East, and before he was convicted of federal bank fraud, Nakoula Basseley Nakoula was arrested on charges relating to the making of angel dust.

Court records reviewed by Danger Room show that Nakoula and a co-defendant were brought before the Los Angeles County Superior Courthouse in Downey, California on April 15, 1997. They were charged with possessing the narcotic’s chemical precursors with “the intent to manufacturephencyclidine,” otherwise known as angel dust or PCP.

In the latest in a series of odd revelations about the man thought to be at center of a viral video, “The Innocence of Muslims,” which has been publicly seized upon by people in Libya, Egypt, and Tunisia as a reason to attack U.S. embassies. At least four American government employees have been killed during the confrontations. And that’s brought enormous scrutiny to Nakoula, an Egyptian immigrant and gas station owner, who has alternatively confirmed and denied a role in the making of “Innocence.”

In recent days, we’ve learned that Nakoula used 14 different aliases — including “P.J. Tobacco” and “Kritbag Difrat” — in a complex check kiting scheme. We’ve learned that Nakoula was sentenced to 21 months in federal custody for the affair. According to The Smoking Gun, Nakoula was released from the the United States Penitentiary in Lompoc, California in September, 2010. He spent the following nine months in and out of a halfway house in Long Beach. Unnamed officials tell ABC News he wrote the script for the film, which depicts the prophet Muhammad as a thug and a child molester, while in prison.

The punishment was relatively gentle, even though it wasn’t Nakoula’s first encounter with the law. That’s because Nakoula had decided to become a federal informant.

“I am sorry for what happened. Now I know it was wrong. I decide to cooperate with the government to retrieve some of those mistakes,” Nakoula told Judge Christina Snyder in June of 2010, according to asentencing transcript obtained by The Smoking Gun.

The man Nakoula agreed to help the feds catch was Eiad Salameh, the ringleader of the check kiting scheme and “a notorious fraudster who has been tracked for more than a decade by state and federal investigators,” the Smoking Gun says. “In his debriefings, Nakoula said he was recruited as a ‘runner’ by Salameh, who pocketed the majority of money generated by the bank swindles.”

Because of the promised help, because of his many ailments (including Hepatitis C and diabetes) and maybe because of a friendly letter from a friend calling Nakoula “a God-fearing man whose first priority is his family,” Bakoula was sentenced to just 21 months in prison.

That’s in spie of his previous arrests. In August of 1991, he was convicted on two counts of selling watered-down gasoline. And then came the arrest for PCP manufacturing in 1997. A local judge found there was probable cause for the case to continue against Nakoula and a co-defendant, Khaled Yameen Abraham, on August 6th of that year. Nakoula and Abraham were also briefly charged with conspiracy.

Three months later, Abraham was convicted on the PCP charge. Nakoula, on the other hand, was not. Nearly five years later, the case against him was dismissed, for reasons unknown.

According to The Daily Beast, Nakoula and Abraham weren’t just attempting to make PCP. The news site claims that the pair were arrested for trying to mass-produce methamphetamine. Nakoula was arrested on March 27, 1997, according to the Beast, with $45,000 in hundreds and twenties in a paper lunch bag on the seat beside him. Abraham’s house in Lake Elsinore contained 30 boxes of pseudoephedrine, meth’s central ingredient. Another 99 cases were allegedly found at the storage facility. Danger Room hasn’t been able to confirm this account. But it’s entirely possible that Abraham and Nakoula were simultaneously busted for being both PCP and meth makers.

J. Christopher Stevens (April 18, 1960 – September 11, 2012) was an American diplomatand lawyer who served as the U.S. Ambassador to Libya from June 2012 to September 2012.[2][3] He was killed when the U.S. consulate was attacked in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11, 2012.[4][2]

Early life and education

John Christopher "Chris" Stevens was born on April 18, 1960, in Grass Valley, California,[5][6][7] the oldest of three children[8] of Jan S. Stevens, California Assistant Attorney General,[8] and his wife Mary Floris.[9] He was raised in Northern California. His parents divorced in the early 1970s. Both remarried, and Christopher had a half-sister by his father's second marriage;[8] his mother became a cellist with the Marin Symphony Orchestra beginning in 1976,[10] and married Robert Commanday, a longtime music critic with the San Francisco Chronicle.[7]

Stevens attended Pioneer Elementary School and Emerson Junior High in Davis, was anAFS Intercultural Programs exchange student in Spain during summer of 1977, and graduated from Piedmont High School(fact-http://www.mcclatchydc.com/2012/09/12/168197/slain-us-ambassador-chris-stevens.html ) in 1978. He earned a B.A. in history in 1982 at the University of California, Berkeley, where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. From 1983 to 1985, he taught English as a Peace Corps volunteer in Morocco. He graduated with a J.D. from theUniversity of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1989, and received an M.S. degree from the National War College in 2010. He spoke English, Arabic, and French.

Prior to joining the United States Foreign Service, Stevens was an international tradelawyer based in Washington, D.C.[3] He was admitted as an active member of the State Bar of California on January 26, 1990; he went on inactive status on August 1, 1991, and remained an inactive member for the remainder of his career.[11]

Stevens was a member of the Chinook Indian Tribe in Washington state.[12]

[edit]U.S. Foreign Service

Stevens joined the United States Foreign Service in 1991. His previous overseas assignments included: Deputy Principal officer and Political Section Chief in Jerusalem; political officer in Damascus; consular/political officer in Cairo; and consular/economic officer in Riyadh. In Washington, Ambassador Stevens served as Director of the Office of Multilateral Nuclear and Security Affairs; Pearson Fellow with the Senate Foreign Relations Committee; special assistant to the Under Secretary for Political Affairs; Iran desk officer; and staff assistant in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs.

He had served in Libya twice previously: as the Deputy Chief of Mission (from 2007 to 2009) and as Special Representative to theNational Transitional Council (from March 2011 to November 2011) during the Libyan revolution. He arrived in Tripoli in May 2012 as the U.S. Ambassador to Libya.[3]

[edit]Death

Stevens was the first U.S. ambassador to die in office since the 1988 aircrash in Pakistan which killed Arnold Lewis Raphel. Stevens is the eighth U.S. Ambassador to be killed in the line of duty.[13]

Early reports said Libyan protestors, allegedly provoked by insults against the Islamic prophet Mohammed depicted in the filmInnocence of Muslims, had organized into street mobs that attacked the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya.[14] However, the controversial film was screened only once (in June, before fewer than a dozen people). Moreover, some attackers used military-grade weapons (including RPGs) and seemed to know the locations of the secret safe house sites. This, along with the symbolism of the date of the attacks (the anniversary of the September 11 attacks), led to speculation by the British Quilliam think tank that the raid was pre-planned – possibly as revenge by al-Qaeda for the U.S. killing Abu Yahya al-Libi in a drone strike months earlier.[15][16]

A rocket propelled grenade attack reportedly created a fire in the main consulate building with three Americans inside — Stevens, Sean Smith, and a security officer.[17] According to U.S. officials, the security officer escaped and the staff found Smith dead. However, the staff were unable to locate Ambassador Stevens before being driven from the building under small arms fire.[17] Stevens apparently became separated from his staff while trying to escape to the roof and was ultimately overcome by smoke inhalation.[18][19] Local civilians found Stevens and brought him to the Benghazi Medical Centre in a state of cardiac arrest. Medical personnel tried to resuscitate him, but he was pronounced dead at about 2:00am local time.[17]

The surviving Americans were taken to a safe house. A rescue squad consisting of eight U.S. military or former military was sent fromTripoli, the capital. They were ambushed and the safe house came under attack. Two more Americans died, including one sent from Tripoli; several were wounded.[17][20][21] Later reports identified the victims as Tyrone S. Woods and Glen A. Doherty, both ex-Navy SEALs working as security and intelligence contractors.[22][23] U.S. officials began an investigation.

Get ready to have your mind blown

Get ready to have your mind blown.

Since the campaign launched its new website, Commit to Vote, 93,000 people have said they'll cast a ballot this fall. You know why? People are talking to their friends and their families, and they're not shy about using my favorite four-letter word:

Vote.

This is me asking you to commit to vote now -- and to pass it on.

I have so many friends who are better off thanks to the work our president has done -- some who've returned home from war, others who've been able to go to college, and one friend who got a job working in Detroit's auto industry.

Don't make me do this alone. If you think President Obama is the right guy for this job, reach out to people you know to make sure they're registered and ready to vote.

There's not much time left. So commit to vote. Ask your friends to commit to vote. Register to vote. Do it all here:

Thanks -- this won't be the last you hear from me.

Thank you

Thank you
I know everyone is duking it out for the elections. But I just wanted to stop and say thank you to all (Conservatives and Liberals) who voted for my video song of my wife's struggle with leukemia in the contest on Youtube.

All you had to do was hit the thumbs up symbol underneath the video. Since our air conditioning broke, we won't be able to use the money for medical bills. But it is a blessing that if we win, the money will pay a little on repairs done to the A/C.
Sharon had a virus at the time the A/C broke so it made all the difference to get it fixed.
Since people recovering from leukemia have low white blood cells, the flu really hit her hard.

Again thank you all for your votes on this link>>
