Has The Georgia Democratic Party Lost Their Mind?

In recent times I have helped with the Georgia Democratic Party because I have always been an underdog kind of guy and have agreed with them on a couple of issues. But this latest attack on Congressman Kingston is to me of the same caliber of mentality that got Senator Alan Grayson of Florida voted out in the last election with his Taliban Dan commercial which distorted the truth so badly about his opponent , Daniel Webster, that Grayson lost.

The below email talks about Congressman Kingston as not caring about jobs for Georgians and completely overlooks two huge issues. The first being that in order to enlarge this port they needlessly destroyed one of the larger if not largest historic mounds of antiquity from our great state's history and the funding of this project has only the possibility of adding those jobs and will add to the national deficit which is continuing to grow.

Heck we all want jobs to come to Georgia. I know for a fact that Congressman Kingston wants jobs here to help his voter base. But this time I admire Mr. Kingston's courage in not allowing the pandering to special interests to overcome his good sense.

The Army Corps of Engineers did not allow proper time for Georgians to speak out about the loss of a very historic site since they had this application long enough that they could have allowed more than just a few days for feedback to come from Georgians.

So, in my opinion, the Democrats had better think long and hard before they attack Mr. Kingston on this issue ever again or they just might find themselves coming out with Congressman Kingston smelling like a rose while they become relegated to the minor annoyance that some of the others who try this very seedy tactic of telling half truths to make someone look bad. Has the Georgia Democratic leadership lost their minds or do you just not care if you lose badly anymore?

David,

Today the Democratic Party of Georgia issued a press release focused on your congressman, Rep. Jack Kingston.

Kingston admits that deepening the Port of Savannah will result in massive economic activity for the state of Georgia and create a wealth of jobs, but he refuses to ask Congress to fund the project. He is scared that if he asks for federal money to deepen the port, Washington DC Republicans and the Tea Party will vote against him in 2012.

Click here to read our press release.

This project is crucial to Georgia' s future. By deepening the port, Georgia can accept jumbo-sized ships and remain a top tier port on the eastern United States

Now, it's our turn.

Can you write a letter to the editor of your local paper asking Congressman Jack Kingston to request federal money to deepen the Port of Savannah?

Kingston says that he has sent a letter to the President...that should be enough work on his part. We STRONGLY disagree.

ANYONE can write a letter. Kingston was elected to make things happen in Congress. As a member of the appropriations commitee and a leader in the GOP House of Representatives, Jack Kingston is uniquely qualified to request this funding.

Please click here to write a letter to the editor of your local paper. It will take only a few moments of your time. Deepening the Port of Savannah creates $4.5 dollars for every dollar spent, and will produce thousands of new jobs in Georgia.

Any questions? Let me know. I can be reached at eric@georgiademocrat.org.

Sincerely,

Eric

P.S. Click here to see the video of Jack Kingston admitting that the Port of Savannah needs funding but refuses to ask for it. Isn't this what we elected him to do? Work for Georgia, and not kowtow to his cronies in DC?
