Reminder: Submissions re steam generators
from the Eagle Watch
September 3, 2010
This is a reminder to submit your comments to CNSC by September 13 to stop the shipment of radioactive steam generators. You can send written submissions or attend in person but you must apply to get on the list.
Some information you may want to include:
The radioactive steam generators were originally to be disposed of ON SITE at Bruce Power. Then they changed their minds for some unknown reason. Now they intend to ship them through the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River watershed to Sweden where they will be recycled as scrap metal and put into various manufactured items.
Demand that CNSC refuse to allow these dangerous shipments of radioactive materials through our territory and watershed.
Be sure to point out that any radiation is potentially lethal. Government and industry continue to deny the harmful effects of radiation and the potential for catastrophe. Shipping these radioactive materials around is reckless and dangerous.
