We did it!

Today, we defeated Senator Lisa Murkowski’s Big Oil Bailout,
and we couldn’t have done it without your help.

Thanks to you, the Senate struck down Senator Murkowski’s reckless
proposal to gut the Clean Air Act’s ability to protect public health and hold
the biggest polluters accountable for their carbon pollution. LCV would like to
thank the Senators that voted down Senator Murkowski’s resolution for standing
up to Big Oil and other corporate polluters.

Over the last several months, LCV has tirelessly advocated
on Capitol Hill to make sure that the Senate rejected Senator Murkowski’s Big
Oil Bailout. However, today would not have been possible without the thousands
of emails you wrote and phone calls you made to your Senators’ offices. So, thank
you for all of your hard work!

As we are offered a stark daily reminder of the perils of
our dependence on fossil fuels, we will continue to push for comprehensive
clean energy and global warming legislation in the Senate that transitions
America to a clean energy future, makes our nation more secure, and reduces
global warming pollution. Once again, a
victory will not be possible without your continued help. The next two months
are critical to this fight in the Senate and we will alert you when there are
other opportunities to urge your leaders to do the right thing.

Thanks again for all that you do to protect our planet.
